November Praises and Mentions

It seems like a long time since I wrote my last blog post, and after checking my site, it seems that I have been absent for four months. The one thing about modern life is how busy everything seems to be, and that is certainly true in my case. I got a few part time jobs which drained me of my energy for a while, but now I am back and ready to roll once again.

The first part of Frozen Heart has now been available for nine months, and has received a fair amount of attention from the reviewing public on Goodreads and Amazon. One of the best reviews was from fellow indie author Dawn Sister, whose is in the process of writing her first book to be published as we speak.

She wrote –

“Oh I did enjoy this book. It has some very interesting characters and a nice take on the classic genie story.

Glenn has been trapped for fifty years in a once treasured possession, a snow globe, that then comes into the possession of the unwitting hero of the story, Jason. He inherits the snow globe along with other artifacts, from his uncle and unleashes the now very bitter genie. He’s been stuck in a snow globe for fifty years and his heart has frozen.

Jason has seven days to thaw Glenn’s icy interior and exterior and the events take place over Christmas, to add to the atmosphere.

Anyway, this is well worth a read.”

I think you will agree it was a very pleasing review, especially as the story has not yet reached it’s conclusion.

Another piece of good news is that I came across someone on deviantArt by the name of AuldMisdione who shares my passion for genies. He has a wide selection of characters, both anthromorphic and human shaped that I helped create during our wild and wonderful conversations. I always remained anonymous on his side, because he didn’t know how artists and fellow authors would react to published individuals sharing ideas with independant creators.

After some discussion, we have come to an agreement that I can use alternate universe versions of the characters I helped to bring to life in any of my future stories. All he asks for is that his name be acknoledged at the beginning of any work they are featured in, rather than asking for monetary compensation for their usage. I believe this is only fair, and as such, cannot wait to bring these new characters to life with short stories and original fiction.

To finish up this post, I would like to thank AuldMisdione for his genorosity, and to Dawn Sister for such a considerate review of Frozen Heart. Hope to see you soon!
